Final Fantasy XIII

First and foremost, to annul any argument of my self-proclaimed veteran status; I've played and beaten FF's 6 through 9, played 10 (saw the ending ahead of time and it just ruined it for me), I still play 11 to this day and have been since the North American launch 7 years ago, completely ignored 12 (for whatever reason it never enticed me to pick it up), went back and played/beaten some of the games prior to 6, and I've just completed 13. Now that I have that out of the way...

Why the 3 star review? Did I make a fan-boy cringe? I hope so.

Final Fantasy XIII

Ahh Final Fantasy, the series that has caused me to buy many a console system just to play the latest iteration. XIII continues the tradition of high quality offerings from Square Enix and does so in a new way, cross-platform on the PS3 and the XBox 360. It is well documented that the presentation quality of the 360 version is slightly inferior to that of the PS3 (576p versus 720p) but the actual game experience doesn't seem to suffer in any appreciable way. Still, I can't help but feel slighted somewhat by being offered the lower resolution version for my platform of choice.

Final Fantasy XIII: Limited Edition Bundle

There are many people talking about this bundle, saying that it's not worth it because the console has no special design. That's not a big deal at all. You have to look at the overall value you get with this bundle. The console itself has the Jasper chipset built-in, the hard drive is the largest available (250GB) with a custom Final Fantasy XIII engraving, there are two controllers (always safe to have a back-up), and the game itself is fantastic. I do feel that it would have been nice if they could have replaced the second controller with either HD or HDMI cables, but the value you get with this bundle is still worth it.
